1. About These Terms
These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of the SMS notification service (the “Service”) operated by the Clermont Food Pantry (the “Pantry,” “we,” or “our”), a program of the Interfaith Community Outreach Center serving Clermont, Florida.
By calling our voice line and verbally completing an RSVP, or by registering on our website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
The Service sends you SMS messages related to your participation in food distribution events. You will receive messages such as:
- A confirmation of your RSVP after you call to register or update your attendance.
- A reminder a few days before your distribution date.
- A final pickup or delivery message on the day of distribution.
- A periodic eligibility and contact verification request, asking you to confirm you still need grocery assistance and to update your information.
- Occasional service notifications (e.g., schedule changes due to weather).
Messages are sent in your preferred language — English or Spanish — based on the language you selected during your call.
3. Eligibility & How to Opt In
The Service is open to any household in our service area that needs food assistance. There is no income proof or documentation required. All faiths welcome.
You opt in to SMS in one of two ways:
- Registering through our website at www.clermontfoodpantry.org and checking the SMS consent box shown during sign-up, or
- Completing our re-verification form at app.clermontfoodpantry.org/verify (sent to enrolled recipients as a personal link) and checking the SMS consent box.
SMS consent is collected only in writing through these forms; we do not collect SMS consent verbally or by phone. You may call our voice line at +1 (352) 723-5685 for help or to RSVP, and we will direct you to the website to sign up for text updates.
You confirm that the phone number you provide is your own, and that you are authorized to receive SMS at that number.
4. How to Get Help & How to Stop Messages
Reply HELP to any message to receive support contact information. Or call us directly at +1 (352) 723-5685.
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. You will receive a final confirmation, then no further SMS will be sent.
Other recognized opt-out keywords: END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL. Spanish-speaking recipients can also reply PARAR or FIN.
Opting out of SMS does not remove you from our food distribution service. You will continue to receive food. If you opt back in, simply call our voice line and complete a new RSVP.
5. Message & Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your wireless plan. The Pantry does not charge any fee for SMS. If you have questions about your wireless plan’s SMS or data charges, please contact your carrier directly.
6. Carrier Disclaimer
Carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, Google Fi, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7. Privacy
Your phone number and the content of your interaction with the Service are governed by our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your information for marketing purposes. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
8. Limitations of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. The Pantry, its volunteers, board members, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service, which is zero.
This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
9. Termination
You may end your participation in the Service at any time by replying STOP. We may suspend or end the Service, or your access to it, in cases of abuse, fraud, or where required by law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated to active recipients by SMS, on our website, or in person at the next distribution.
